CAS Syntax
- IFactor[ <Expression> ]
- Factors over the irrationals.
- Example:
IFactor[x^2 + x - 1]
returns \left( x + \frac{-\sqrt{5} + 1}{2} \right) \; \left( x + \frac{\sqrt{5} + 1}{2} \right)
- IFactor[ <Expression>, <Variable> ]
- Factors over the irrationals with respect to a given variable.
- Example:
IFactor[a^2 + a - 1, a]
returns \left( a + \frac{-\sqrt{5} + 1}{2} \right) \; \left( a + \frac{\sqrt{5} + 1}{2} \right)
