GeoGebra Quickstart Translation
Thank you for your interest in translating the GeoGebra Quickstart document to your language! This document is in MS Word format. In order to translate it, you need MS Word or Open Office.
Translation into a new language
Download the latest version of the Quickstart document from www.geogebra.org/source/translation/quickstart/. Please use the English version quickstart_en_XX.zip (XX is the version number) to start your translation. Unzip the downloaded files to your computer. Only the .docx file needs to be translated.
Updating an existing translation
Download the latest version of the Quickstart document in YOUR LANGUAGE (zip-file, e.g. Spanish: quickstart_es_XX.zip) from www.geogebra.org/source/translation/quickstart/translations/. Unzip the downloaded files to your computer. Only the .docx file needs to be translated.
The ACTUAL translation
Please translate the .docx file from English to your language using MS Word or Open Office.
Some hints for the translation
You can leave all images and screenshots unchanged. However, If you want to create screenshots with GeoGebra's user interface showing your language, you can do the following:
- Open the .ggb constructions that came with the quickstart zip file while GeoGebra is showing your language in its user interface
- Ensure that the size of the GeoGebra window is appropriate (drag the bottom right corner of the application window)
- Create a screenshot of the GeoGebra window (with Windows this is done by pressing "Alt + Print")
- Insert the screenshot into the Quickstart Document (by pressing "Ctrl + v" on Windows or Linux)
Submitting your Translation
When you have finished, create a zip file of the directory including the translated .docx file (including your possibly updated screenshot or ggb files). If possible also include a pdf version of the quickstart document in this zip file. Send this zip file to translation@geogebra.org via e-mail.
