Variance Command

- Variance[ <List of Numbers> ]
- Calculates the variance of list elements.
- Example:
Variance[{1, 2, 3}]
yields 0.67.
- Variance[ <List of Numbers>, <List of Frequencies> ]
- Example:
Variance[{1, 2, 3} , {1, 2, 1}]
yields 0.5.
CAS Syntax
- Variance[ <List of Numbers> ]
- Calculates the variance of list elements. If the list contains undefined variables, it yields a formula for the variance.
- Example:
Variance[{1, 2, a}]
yields \frac{2 a^{2} - 6 a + 6}{9}.
