• 1 Introduction

GeoGebra Institute of České Budějovice (http://www.pf.jcu.cz/ggi)
is hosted by the Faculty of Education (http://www.pf.jcu.cz) of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (http://www.jcu.cz). The GeoGebra Institute is closely connected to the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Education. Its aim is in accordance with the activities of the department, namely with its research in the use of technology in mathematics education, as well as with both its pre-service and in-service teacher training programmes for mathematics teachers and the doctoral study program “Theory of mathematics education”.

• 3 Training and Support

The in-service teacher training courses “The use of GeoGebra I and II” for applicants for the GeoGebra certificates were accredited at the ministry of education of the Czech Republic. These courses and the GeoGebra certification process were launched in summer 2012 (17 GeoGebra User Certificates were granted).

Two special courses on GeoGebra (15 hours of e-learning plus 9 hours of the on-site learning) for practicing teachers from two schools in Tábor and České Budějovice (about 20 attendants).

Within the pre-service teacher training courses The Faculty of Education offers the subject “The Use of computers in mathematics education”, the 2D geometry part of which is based on the use of GeoGebra.

A postgraduate e-learning course “Computer based education” with the significant use of GeoGebra (http://moodle.pf.jcu.cz/course/category.php?id=3, supported by ESF OP VK "INDICT").
