What is the Style Bar

The Style Bar allows you to quickly and easily change a selection of basic properties of Views or objects. In order to open or close the Style Bar, either click on the little arrow next to the name of the corresponding View in GeoGebra Desktop, or click the Style Bar Button in the GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps. Please note that there are still more properties you can change using the Menu-options.svg Properties Dialog.

Style Bar Options for Views

Each View has it’s own Style Bar options.
In GeoGebra Web and Tablet App, depending on the View you select, the Style Bar can be opened by using one of the following Style Bar Buttons, and displays the most useful options to the related View.

Use the Stylingbar icon graphics.svg Graphics View Style Bar Button in order to open the Graphics View Style Bar providing the following options:

Use the Stylingbar icon graphics3D.svg 3D Graphics View Style Bar Button in order to open the 3D Graphics View Style Bar providing the following options:

  • Stylingbar graphics3D axes plane.svg Show / Hide the Axes: You may show or hide the coordinate axes, as well as the xOy-plane.
  • Stylingbar graphicsview show or hide the grid.svg Show / Hide the Grid: You may show or hide a grid in the xOy-plane.
  • Stylingbar graphicsview standardview.svg Go Back to Default View: You may move the coordinate system back to the default view.
  • Stylingbar graphicsview point capturing.svg Change the Point Capturing: You can choose between the settings Automatic, Snap to Grid, Fixed to Grid, and Off. For more information please see Point Capturing.
  • Stylingbar graphics3D rotateview play.svg Start / Stop rotating the View Automatically: You may rotate the Perspectives algebra 3Dgraphics.svg 3D Graphics View automatically and can set the direction as well as the speed of the rotation.
  • Stylingbar graphics3D view xy.svg Adjust the View Direction: You may choose between the view towards the Stylingbar graphics3D view xy.svg xOy-plane, Stylingbar graphics3D view xz.svg xOz-plane, Stylingbar graphics3D view yz.svg yOz-plane, or Stylingbar graphics3D standardview rotate.svg rotate back to the default view.
  • Stylingbar graphics3D clipping medium.svg Toggle Clipping Box: You may adapt the size of the clipping box and may choose between the options None, Stylingbar graphics3D clipping small.svg Small, Stylingbar graphics3D clipping medium.svg Medium and Stylingbar graphics3D clipping big.svg Large.   • Stylingbar graphics3D view orthographic.svg Choose the Type of Projection: You may choose between a Stylingbar graphics3D view orthographic.svg Parallel Projection, Stylingbar graphics3D view perspective.svg Perspective Projection, Stylingbar graphics3D view glases.svg Projection for 3D Glasses, and Stylingbar graphics3D view oblique.svg Oblique Projection.
  • Menu-options.svg Open the Properties Dialog: Open the Menu-options.svg Properties Dialog for the Perspectives algebra 3Dgraphics.svg 3D Graphics View or a selected object (GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps).
  • Stylingbar dots.svg Display Views: You may display additional Views in the GeoGebra window (GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps).

Stylingbar icon algebra.svg Algebra View Style Bar

Use the Stylingbar icon algebra.svg Algebra View Style Bar Button in order to open the Algebra View Style Bar providing the following options:

  • Stylingbar algebraview auxiliary objects.svg Show / Hide Auxiliary Objects: Toggling this button shows or hides Auxiliary Objects in the Menu view algebra.svg Algebra View.
  • Stylingbar algebraview sort objects by.svg Sort Objects by: You may organize the mathematical objects according to the following criteria:
    • Dependency: The mathematical objects are organized as Free Objects and Dependent Objects. If you create a new object without using any other existing objects, it is classified as a Free Object. If your newly created object was created by using other existing objects, it is classified as a Dependent Object.
    • Object Type: By default, the mathematical objects are organized by Object Types (e.g. Angles, Lines, Points), which are displayed in alphabetical order.
    • Layer: The mathematical objects are organized according to the layer they are drawn on. For more information see Layers.
    • Construction Order: The mathematical objects are organized by construction order.
  • Stylingbar dots.svg Display Views: You may display additional Views in the GeoGebra window (GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps).

Stylingbar icon cas.svg CAS View Style Bar

Use the Stylingbar icon cas.svg CAS View Style Bar Button in order to open the CAS View Style Bar providing the following options:

  • Stylingbar text.svg Text: Select the button in order to change the Stylingbar text color.svg Text Color and set the style to Stylingbar text bold.svg Bold or Stylingbar text italic.svg Italic.
  • Cas-keyboard.png Virtual Keyboard: Display a virtual keyboard in a separate window (GeoGebra Desktop).
  • Stylingbar dots.svg Display Views: You may display additional Views in the GeoGebra window (GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps).

Stylingbar icon spreadsheet.svg Spreadsheet View Style Bar

Use the Stylingbar icon spreadsheet.svg Spreadsheet View Style Bar Button in order to open the Spreadsheet View Style Bar providing the following options:

  • Show Input Bar: Toggling this button shows or hides the Input Bar at the top of the Menu view spreadsheet.svg Spreadsheet View (GeoGebra Desktop).
  • Stylingbar text bold.svg Bold: Set the font style to bold.
  • Stylingbar text italic.svg Italic: Set the font style to italic.
  • Stylingbar spreadsheet align left.svgText Alignment: Set the text alignment to Stylingbar spreadsheet align left.svg Left, Stylingbar spreadsheet align center.svg Center, or Stylingbar spreadsheet align right.svg Right.
  • Stylingbar color white.svg Background Color: Change the background color of a cell.
  • Border frame.png Cell Borders: Change the style of the cell borders (GeoGebra Desktop)
  • Menu-options.svg Properties Dialog: Open the Menu-options.svg Properties Dialog (GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps)
  • Stylingbar dots.svg Display Views: You may display additional Views in the GeoGebra window (GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps).

Style Bar Options for Tools and Objects

Depending on the Tool or existing object you select, the Style Bar offers a selection of buttons to change the following properties of either the selected object(s) or the object(s) you are about to create using the selected Tool:

  • Stylingbar point.svg Point Style: You may choose between different point styles (e.g. Stylingbar point.svg dot, Stylingbar point cross.svg cross, Stylingbar point down.svg arrow, Stylingbar point diamond empty.svg diamond) and set the point size.
  • Stylingbar line solid.svg Line Style: You may choose between different line styles (e.g.Stylingbar line dashed long.svg dashed, Stylingbar line dotted.svg dotted) and set the line thickness.
  • Stylingbar color white.svg Color of Object: You may set a different color for the selected object.
  • Stylingbar color brown transparent 20.svg Color and Transparency of Object Filling: You may choose the color and transparency of the filling for the selected object.
  • Stylingbar text.svg Text Style: You may set the Stylingbar text color.svg Text Color, Stylingbar color white.svg Background Color, Text Style (Stylingbar text bold.svg bold, Stylingbar text italic.svg italic), and Menu-options-font-size.svg Font Size for a text object.
  • Menu-options-labeling.svg Labelling Settings: You may choose from the following Labelling settings
    • Hidden: No label is displayed.
    • Name: Only the name of the object is displayed (e.g. A).
    • Name & Value: Name and value of the object are shown (e.g. A = (1, 1)).
    • Value: Only the value of the object is displayed (e.g. (1, 1)).
  • Stylingbar caption.svg Caption: You may display a caption that differs from the name or value of the object (e.g., if you want to give several objects the same label) and can be specified in the Menu-options.svg Properties Dialog.
  • Pin.png Absolute Position on Screen: You may fix an object (e.g. a text box) in the screen so that it is not affected by moving the (3D) Graphics View or zooming (GeoGebra Desktop).
  • Menu-options.svg Properties Dialog: Open the Menu-options.svg Properties Dialog (GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps)
  • Stylingbar dots.svg Display Views: You may display additional Views in the GeoGebra window (GeoGebra Web and Tablet Apps).
