SD( <List of Numbers> )
Calculates the standard deviation of the numbers in the list.
Example: SD({1, 2, 3, 4, 5}) yields 1.41
Example: stdevp({1, 2, 3, 4, 5}) yields 1.41

SD( <List of Numbers>, <List of Frequencies> )
Calculates the weighted standard deviation of the given numbers.
Example: SD({20, 40, 41, 42, 40, 54}, {20, 6, 4, 5, 2, 1}) yields 10.98

CAS Syntax

SD( <List of Numbers> )
Calculates the standard deviation of the numbers in the list.
Example:
  • SD({1, 2, 3, 4, 5}) yields \sqrt{2}.
  • SD({-3 + 2 x, -1- 4 x, -2 + 5 x^2}) is evaluated as \sqrt{2} \frac{\sqrt{25x⁴ + 10x³ + 28x² - 18x + 3} } { 3 } .
