There are two types of objects in GeoGebra: free and dependent. Some of them can be defined to be auxiliary.

Free Objects

Free Objects are objects whose position or value doesn't depend on any other objects. They are created by direct input or e.g. Mode point.svg Point Tool. They can be moved, unless they are fixed.

Dependent Objects

Dependent Objects are objects that depend on some other objects. They are created using Tools and Commands.

Auxiliary Objects

Auxiliary Objects are either objects which are defined to be auxiliary by user, or objects which were created by specific tools, e.g. Mode regularpolygon.svg Regular Polygon Tool. Spreadsheet cells are also considered to be auxiliary. They have their separate place in Menu view algebra.svg Algebra View.
