Development News

The developers met in person for the first time at the conference on 29-31 Aug 2011 at International GeoGebra Conference Hagenberg near Linz, Austria. They identified the following possible areas to investigate and work on over the next few years:

  • GeoGebra Web refactoring: one code base
  • 3D algorithms for parametric surfaces, intersecting curves
  • 3D input devices: eg Kinect, head-tracking with a webcam
  • Non-Euclidian view for spherical / hyperbolic geometry: using 3D code
  • Barycentric coordinates, triangle centers
  • Interactive Whiteboard Improvements
  • Making GeoGebra run faster and identifying bugs more quickly
  • Turning a locus into an Implicit Curve automatically
  • Proving & symbolic computations
  • USB Logging eg Vernier Go!Motion, Kinect, Phoenix
  • Equation Editor: interface & spreadsheet
  • Moodle: connection to GeoGebra, exercises
  • Spreadsheet / Statistics enhancements
  • Online translation (instead of Attesoro)
  • Python Scripting
