The Second International GeoGebra Conference from 29-31 August 2011 in Hagenberg, Austria will allow researchers, developers, and teachers to share their experiences and ideas concerning GeoGebra.

Deadlines

  • 15 June - Abstract submission (max. 250 words) for presentations, workshop, poster abstracts and choosing working groups (see structure below). Notification of acceptance in early July
  • 15 June - Austrian teacher registration deadline (80 EUR thanks to support of the Austrian Ministry of Education)
  • 1 July -Early registration deadline (180 EUR, students 130 EUR, accompanying person 100 EUR)
  • 31 July -Final registration deadline (200 EUR, students 150 EUR, accompanying person 100 EUR)
  • 30 September - submission of full papers (journals and format will be announced)
  • 15 October - publishing Working Group reports

Registration & Hotel

The registration fee includes participation fees, lunches, coffees, and the conference dinner on Monday. Thanks to support of the Austrian Ministry of Education, Austrian teachers only need to pay 80 EUR for meals (which they can get reimbursed from their schools later).

Structure

The conference will have plenary talks and scientific sessions as well as workshops in English. In addition, there will also be a workshop track in German for local teachers.

  • Keynotes
  • Presentations: (15 + 5minutes) These are usual conference presentations. Participants can submit abstracts and if accepted can present there ideas in 15 minutes and there is an additional 5 minute for answering questions from the audience.
  • Working groups: Every participant should choose one Working Group session at registration. The aim of WGs is to discuss a specific topic for about 10 hours during the conference. WG chairs describe the topics in their abstracts (see below), but WG participants can also suggest topics for discussion. You can also submit an abstract for WG session to introduce your ideas (different abstract than for presentations above) and during the first WG session you can present these ideas for max 5 minutes and there will be time for 2 minutes questions. The primary aim of WGs is to engage in discussion and produce a report at the end of the conference to summarise the discussion topics.
  • Workshops: There is a possibility to submit hands-on workshop proposals which can last either for 45 or 90 minutes.
  • Posters, projected displays, video presentations: Throughout the conference these displays can be viewed.
