Community News

What you can do:

  • Talk about, teach, spread GeoGebra! Network, go to conferences, help establish new GeoGebra Institutes! We will recognize the efforts of the members of our community who have been the most active, by naming them GeoGebra Ambassadors. You can also nominate someone you know and think should deserve it to become a GG Ambassador. Send your suggestions to community@geogebra.org!
  • Post, discuss, share online your experiences with GeoGebra! Start a blog, a facebook, twitter, google+ page or just simply share with us any interesting pages you find about GeoGebra on the worldwide web. Click here to submit a page
  • If you tweet about a conference please use the #ggbconf hashtag.

Our Community in Numbers in 2012/1

  • At the moment we have 110 GeoGebra Institutes all around the World.
  • 24 new GeoGebra Institutes were established in the first seven months of 2012.
  • The number of people who joined our GeoGebra Facebook group has grown from 8888 to more than 10 100.
  • There are 3368 people who follow GeoGebra on Twitter!
  • We had more than 4.2 million visits to www.geogebra.org until mid August in 2012 out of which 66.5% are new visitors.

  • Our visitors came from 218 countries and territories. Most visitors are from the US, Europe and Latin America.

Translation Issues

The GeoGebra software is currently available in about 55 languages, however there are a few translations still missing or need updating like Albanian, Thai, Afrikaans, Filipino, Malayalam, Hindi etc. What you can do: Do your students understand everything? If GeoGebra is not available in your local language, please work with us to find volunteer translators and make GeoGebra accessible for everyone. E-mail Translation

Development News

GeoGebra 4.2 Release Candidate We have been working very hard over the Summer with testing, adding the last few features and fixing bugs. We need your help to catch the last few bugs, so please install the Release Candidate and try it out! You can install the WebStart version here and the installers are here Some of the highlights of the new version:

Articles & Materials

  • Midwest GeoGebra Journal with new articles, activities, and sketches on GeoGebra. They are currently recruiting volunteers to review manuscripts for the journal for publication in 2012.

We are working on new features of the GeoGebra tube, so that it will be even more useful!

What you can do:

  1. Please attend and also take a minute to let others know about our events!
  2. It is our goal that GeoGebra appear in every important Math or IT related conferences. We are maintaining a list of those conferences. Represent GeoGebra at one or more of these events!
  3. If you know about a potential conference where GeoGebra should be present , if you need assistance with organizing a conference/workshop or have news for our next newsletter please let us know at events@geogebra.org.
