Training and Support

The number of GeoGebra users in South Africa is still growing. A second institute was established at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU). We have a website http://school-maths.com/geogebra_institute/index.html and GeoGebra Manuals based on the South African curriculum which can be downloaded from this website.

At the University of Pretoria all third year pre-service mathematics teachers do a GeoGebra course as part of their training. All the ACE in-service teachers received memory sticks with GeoGebra preloaded on it. Several other GeoGebra workshops were conducted in 2011. It includes a workshop for teachers in the Limpopo province, a workshop at UP and another workshop at Stellenbosch University. The University of the Witwatersrand is also using GeoGebra in some of the teacher training courses.
